PEOPLE LIKE US

The collective named “People Like Us” was born from the collaboration of three talented musicians inspired by the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Istanbul. Batıkan Abız, Batıkan Tanrıkulu, and Yiğit Karakaş decided to take the stage with this project in 2019. They aimed to combine the inspiration they found in the streets of Istanbul with their musical talents to offer a unique experience to the listeners. While each of them successfully maintained their individual careers, this trio achieved an impact on the audience with their collaborative project “People Like Us.” Drawing inspiration from various cultures in Istanbul, the group quickly gained a wide fan base. This project stands out not only as a musical performance but also as a tangible reflection of friendship and the art of expression. The “People Like Us” project presents a fusion of different perspectives and surprising melodies to the audience, resulting from the energy and harmony created by the collaboration of the three musicians on their individual musical journeys. The inspiration taken from the diverse cultures of Istanbul contributes to forming a colorful and rich palette in their music.
